Kimberly Kimbrough – Coolest Guy on the Planet

I am currently working as an Kansas City SEO/SEM Analyst for a direct mail marketing and advertising company which has been in existence for 30 years.  I work with a great group of folks.  And so today, while working on my company’s SEO, I decided to check out my rank as the Coolest Guy on the Planet.  I noticed that there are a few new players in the top 30 and of course, I would be dumb to mention them on my blog.  (laughing).  But, I am still the sole woman who is ranking in the top 20 of the search engine optimization experiment known as the Coolest Guy On the Planet.  I have also seen people vying for the title as the Coolest Guy on the Internet.  But after researching, I have found that the actual contest is for the Coolest Guy on the Planet.

Well, I have to hop off and get back to work, but I am excited to be on page two.  I wish I could find time to make it to the top, and who knows….maybe one day I will place as the number one Coolest Guy on the Planet.

Give Me My Props for Being the Coolest Guy On the Planet!

Coolest Guy On the Planet Update and How A Woman is Destined to Become the Coolest Guy on the Planet

I have done absolutely nothing in about three weeks to and I am ready to “Drop It Like It’s Hot!”   :)
Kimberly Kenya Kimbrough is ranked on page 2 in Google SERP for the keyword term:  “coolest guy on the planet.”
Fellas, a sista deserves her props!
Below is a screenshot of Googles 2nd page from August 17, 2008.

But you know what, I have to give myself props first.  So I am going to talk about me, me, me and how cool I am at what I do.  I was listening to a woman talk about how people have outside forces to deal with such as abandonment, failure, etc.  and this is because they are doing this exact same thing to themselves.

For me, I realized that my issues of feeling abandoned by my un-cool guy who fathered me was being enacted wtihin myself.  I have all of these talents but was not doing anything with them, at least not to my fullest.  So I was abandoning myself!

The bottom line is that ever since I heard that message and it snapped me out of the things that tie me down, I refuse to abandon my talents, my experience, my education, my voice, my passion and my drive.  Let me repeat this, “I REFUSE TO ABANDON ME!”

So here’s the coolest story behind all of this:

I grew up in small towns in Missouri, not the most diverse places to call home.  And I was Black and a female.  My mother was an alcoholic and drank herself to death.  My father is alive, an alchoholic and a deadbeat dad who I never met until I turned 31 years old after I found him using the Internet.  Of course, now that I know for sure he has my phone number, his sorry ass still doesn’t call.  He doesn’t even deserve a mention on my website but it is very healing to talk about it, too.  Most daddy’s should be considered the Coolest Guy on the Planet in their daughter’s eyes.  Well, he is definitely not Cool.  And the funny thing about all of this is that I am not even mad.  I am just telling the truth.

I was the oldest child and I had to take care of my sister and brother.  I fed them, bathed them, made them do their chores (or I better have done the chores or else I would get the butt whoopin’), helped with their homework and made sure they minded their manners.  I taught my sister and brother how to ride their bicycles, how to ride skateboards, how to climb trees, how to line a fishing pole with a worm and more.  When my sister and brother were afraid, they came to me.  In many ways, I was my mother’s “partner” in raising us.  Yes, as a child, I was the Coolest Guy on the Planet for my sister and brother.

But this little snippet about my life should give you an idea of how I could also allow this upbringing to sabotage my success.  And for this reason, I have watched all of the coolest guys on the planet who do Internet Marketing come out with product after product.  I watch them in their headers with those nice smiles, wearing business suits and welcoming folks to spend money on the latest hyped up product.

I must admit that I didn’t feel like the coolest guy or the coolest woman on the planet.  I felt very small.  Mainly I listened to the negative voices inside me and I told myself that I could not be successful because I did not look like B R A D F A L L O N or A R M A N D M O R I N or M I C H A E L F I L S A I M E!

The Rise of Kimberly Kimbrough to status as the Coolest Guy On the Planet

My company recently did not hire me for the position of SEO Analyst although many of my coworkers told the decision makers that I knew a lot about search engine optimization.  My final interview was with a guy who worked at one of the major domain name companies.  He flatout told me that doing SEO from home was not credible!  He said that the perfect person would have done SEO for a major hosting company.  I literally sat there sickened to my stomach because I knew perfectly well what he was saying to me.  That I was not going to get the job.  He also spent most of the interview trying to convince himself that he and I had the same experience and knowledge in SEO.  I asked him for examples of his websites or proof of his income and he had nothing.  But what did he have?  The ability to read several books on SEO and drop into the owner’s office and discuss what he read.  Our owner’s know business but not hands on web development.

But you know what?  I maintained my cool.  And it gave me the motivation to go out and create my own SEO site.  It also pissed me off enough to become the Coolest Guy on the Planet and to go down in history as one of the top female Search Engine Optimization Professionals.  I sure as hell did not need that job to tell me that I am an SEO Analyst.  I sure as hell do not need to look like a young Bill Gates to enter into the competition as the Coolest Guy on the Planet either.

Cool! I rank high in the SERPs for being the Coolest!

July 20th, 2008 by admin

For the keyword search term, Coolest Guy On the Planet, I show up on the 17th page of Google at #161 out of about 156,000 listings. That’s not bad considering that I posted a one page title about a year ago and have never done anything to it until today on July 20, 2008.

I have noticed that my website was picked up and a blurb about Kimberly Kimbrough being the Coolest Guy on the Planet is showing up

In fact, the website looked like a MySpace page or that it should appear on Web Pages that Suck.

But that’s okay. It just goes to show you that one should focus on visitor experience and search engines while designing a page. 161 is not bad, but I know that I can do so much better.

So off to the races!

For the search term, Coolest Woman on the Planet, the link shows up on page 3 at #28. But my one page article about being the Coolest Woman has sparked the interest of someone who posted it on a larger website (stands to reason they would appear higher for now) and that article that says COOLEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET KIMBERLY KIMBROUGH shows up as #4 on the first page of Google in the SERPs!

1. So today, I am going to continue building my page and reorganizing Show Me Daily. I have a great ebook to offer visitors who want to make real money and not get filled with fake pipe dreams. I have been doing this for years and years and I know that once you have seen one guy wearing a business suit, you have seen them all. I respect all of them but I know that something refreshing is always helpful.

2. I am now researching the websites of the folks who are ranked higher and I am going to match their efforts and improve upon it. I hope to do this quietly to not disturb the giants. They are not sleeping giants. But they are busy making their thousands per day and I just want to come up from behind and yell “HELLO!” :)

In Yahoo, I do not come up when I type in COOLEST GUY ON THE PLANET KIMBERLY KIMBROUGH so it is safe to say that I may not be highly listed for the term minus my name.
I do, however, show up for the COOLEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET KIMBERLY KIMBROUGH but I do not come up in the top 10 of yahoo.

With MSN, I did not see that I came up at all. (sigh) But the truth is that I never use their engine either, so I suppose that’s fair.

Coolest Guy on the Planet – Kimberly Kimbrough

July 20th, 2008 by admin

Living in a Man’s World, A Woman’s Attempt to Become the Coolest Guy On The Planet.

Hello Gentlemen, I am the Coolest Woman on the Planet. And being an SEO geek, it only makes sense for me to hang out with the Coolest Guys on the Planet.

I noticed all of the top SEO guys like J o n a t h a n L e D g e r and B r a d F a l l o n who are currently ranked number one and number two in Google for the keywords for Coolest Guy…, and I am very competitive by nature. I also get tickled to think that anyone can enter this competition because the search engines have level the playing field.

Anyone with a computer, basic technical savvy, and the desire to learn Internet Marketing and search engine optimization both on the page and off the page, can compete for any keyword provided that their page is relevant.

Kimberly Kimbrough, Coolest Guy On The Planet

So here I come, wearing red stilletos and cute silver earrings. Kimberly Kimbrough is the Coolest Guy on the Planet. Why? Because I am a single parent who plays the role of both mother and father. I wear the pants in my household. I bring home the bacon. And I celebrate Father’s Day, too!

Now I know it must appear odd that a woman such as myself would be so bold as to try to achieve a high ranking for the search keyword, “Coolest Guy On The Planet.”

I have been doing Internet Marketing since 1997, long before search engines were even talked about. This is because most big businesses did not need to invest in online marketing because they had already spent billions offline which was the traditional arena.

I started with an original Yahoo Group for Black and Latin people to get together and connect. In about 4 months, I had 12,000 members. How did that happen? I promoted it on other websites. Also, I sent invites to people directly within Yahoo. I had enough people out there, too, who considered the group a quality, authoritative internet destination and that attracted more folks.

So 11 years later, the search engines, such as Google, have become more and more important in one’s online success. The majority of people find websites by visiting a search engine such as Google, Yahoo, or MSN. If you are not ranked high, then they will not find you. SERP is extremely important.

As I enter, Jonathan L E G E R is ranked number one and Brad F A L L O N is ranked number two in Google for the search term: Coolest Guy On The Planet.

As of July 20, 2008, I am ranked number 161 out of 156,000 websites that come up for the search term: Coolest Guy on the Planet. Kimberly Kimbrough has a long way to go. But I am also aspiring to be the Coolest Woman on the Planet, also. So like being a parent, I have my hands full to become the coolest and to claim SEO expert guru status.

Look out cool guys, I have my heels on and I am on your heels!

Stay tuned: Kimberly Coolest Guy On the Planet Kimbrough
